Quad Cities Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition

Mission: The mission of the Quad Cities Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition is to engage and strengthen our community by providing substance abuse education through collaborative partnerships. 

Vision: The Quad Cities Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition is a coalition that is dedicated to a substance abuse free, safe, and healthy community. 

The Quad Cities Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (QC SAPC) was formed in November 2017 to address the issue of the non-medical use of prescription drugs. The QC SAPC has continuously gained a variety of community members that are committed to creating change within their community. Coalition members were oriented in the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) process when they began working on the Strategic Prevention Framework for Prescription Drugs grant by the SPF Rx Grant Coordinator. The SPF Rx Coordinator has also trained QC SAPC members in the National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) Standards. As new members join the coalition, the SPF Rx Grant Coordinator provides SPF and CLAS Standards materials for members to review. Coalition members consistently utilize the information learned about the SPF Process and CLAS Standards to ensure cultural competency throughout their work.  

*Meetings are held every third Wednesday of the month from 11:00am-12:00pm, via Zoom.
