On January, 25, 1980, a combined board leadership
held its first official meeting of the newly formed Center for
Alcohol & Drug Services, Inc. That was the beginning of a
distinguished history combining efforts and shared success of
multiple professionals and individuals dedicated to the
prevention, assessment and treatment of substance abuse in the
Quad Cities and surrounding communities. The organization is
affectionately known as “CADS,” an acronym that implies
familiarity without further explanation.
CADS celebrates their history, relevance, and the contributions of
staff and board members to a broad base of constituencies. The
organization has more than two decades of experience in the field of
substance abuse, quality facilities, and a well-organized management
structure. CADS oversees funding from multiple private and public
sources, and a host of collaborative initiatives in the Quad Cities area
and the states of Iowa and Illinois.
CADS is dedicated to the prevention, education, and treatment of
addictions, substance abuse, and other disorders related to the harmful
use of alcohol and drugs. We treat the addict, the abuser, and their
family and friends.
